Former U.S. Senator and lobbyist Dan Coats is the Republican nominee.

Running under the Libertarian Party is Rebecca Sink-Burris, a former teacher from Bloomington, Indiana.

In 2008, Barack Obama narrowly carried Indiana with 49.85 percent of the vote while John McCain received 48.82 percent, a 1.03-percent margin of victory for the Democrat. Former U.S.
