About the Rush Limbaugh Report

My readership continues to grow, both on the web, and on the Kindle. Normally I have a "Sunday Summary" in which I give the brief history of this blog, but since I've inititated a new change today, I decided to give the summary today as well.

From now on, all dates will have the date first, then the month, then the day. So, 16 Sep, 2010, Thursday, instead of Sep 17, 2010, Thursday. I hope this change will make it easier for the quick browser to be able to read through the half-dozen or so entries I make each day, to find those that interest him or her.

On the other hand, Drudge Report Headlines, or Michael Savage headllines, will start with their name in the front of the post, then the date, so they are easily differentiated as well. I like to report these headlines on occasion, just to give a snapshot look of the news they see fit to print, as opposed to what the headlines are on Yahoo news.

"Who is...?" - Biographies
Whenever Rush mentions someone on his program, I'll present a biography of that person from Wikipedia. (Unless he really goes namedrop-crazy, in which case I'll spread the bios out over two or more days.)

In addition, with only 40+ days until the November elections that I think will pretty much decide the fate of the country, I'll try to provide more bios of the candidates in question there, as well.

My viewpoint
When I've told some people my viewpoints, they're surprised I'm a Republican instead of a Democrat. Wel, I'm an atheist, I believe women have the right to have abortions if they want them (and education is needed to prevent them from getting pregnant in the first place, like giving them condoms or teaching masturbation!) I think gays should have the right to marry, etc.

However, I don't think the middle class should have to pay exorbitant taxes to keep those on welfare in idleness. Instead of paying foodstamps and WIC, etc, start education programs to get these people to realize that it's their responsibility not to have kids unless they can afford them, etc. [Of course, the current economic downturn has skewed everything, and thousands of people who used to have well-paying jobs, and the kids that go along with it, are now on welfare through no fault of their own - I'm not talking about them. I'm talking about the generational welfare cases - who, thanks to the government, our dependent on that welfare and never intend to get off it.

Rush
I agree with much of what Rush says - Americans should strive for exceptionalism, we should be the economic engine of the world, etc. I disagree with his views on the "Feminazis", and I do shake my head when he talks about God (I'm an atheist), but overall I'm closer to his point of view than to the Dems point of view.

Schedule of posts
So, the schedules and the news headlines are posted here relatively early in the morning, then Rush's headlines, and my comments on things he's said, will appear later in the day, usually after 6 pm (so that I can share transcripts from his website as opposed to trying to make my points and just paraphrasing what he'd said that triggered my comment.)

Other posts
I'll shortly be getting back to my reviews of Rush's two books. I'll also share the advice from Steve Allen's Dumbth, 101 Ways to reason better and impeove your mind.

I'd also be interested in the feedback of my readers. Are you receiving the types of posts you expected to receive? Too much commentary? Too little? Too many politicians schedules?

Please feel free to email me at Nocturne_CVS@yahoo.com with your comments, questions or concerns.
