Connecticut Overview: 37 Senate Races for Nov 2

Okay, 37 posts on a Sunday may be too many, but I'm going to risk it. These are the 37 Senate races that will be decided on November 2, 2010. If Republicans don't win quite a few of these, in order to gain a majority in the Senate, it will certainly be a referendum to all that the Democrat model is what the American people actually want.... (or will it just be a referendum against the Tea Partiers?)

Screencaps of Dem and Rep candidates are shown alphabetically.

Five-term Democratic Christopher Dodd is retiring.

Dem candidate:
Attorney General Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) plans to run for the seat, which is expected to improve the Democrats' chances of holding the seat in November. Blumenthal has been criticized for exaggerating his military record, but he won the party nomination without the need for a primary.

Republican Candidate:
On August 11, 2010 Linda McMahon won the primary. She has recently been criticized by Democrats for some of the content that World Wrestling Entertainment has promoted.

The Connecticut for Lieberman Party has nominated John Mertens as its candidate; Dr. Mertens is a professor of engineering at Trinity College and is also seeking the nominations of the Independent, Green and Libertarian Parties.
