Last night, Obama and Romney were at a press dinner where they "roasted" each other - each making jokes at the other's expense.
This is apparently a yearly thing... indeed if I remember correctly, Rush castigated Obama last year for participating in a roast and lowering the dignity of the President - even though Presidents from at least Bush onward have done it.
But I have to agree with Rush - no President should be in a roast, nor should his opponent in an election. It was all "verbal abuse" - pot shots and sarcastic remarks to which the one being subjected to it could not respond.
I've never liked that kind of humor, and never understood why other people liked it except that perhaps on some primeval level they just like seeing other people "cut down to size."
Okay for actors and their celebrity roasts, I suppose, but not for politicians on either side of the aisle.
