What's wrong with saying we don't know if Egypt is ally or enemy?

Rush seems shocked that Obama would say this...but come on!

There's been a regime change there - and not one brought about by peacable means.

Egypt has to prove to us that they're still an ally. And if they don't, we damn well better stop sending them $1,5 billion a year!
RUSH: I can't believe this. Obama actually said on Telemundo that Egypt isn't an ally or an enemy. They were an ally! When did they stop being an ally? Egypt and Saudi Arabia, of the Arab countries, were our allies. We give Egypt $1.5 billion a year. This is unbelievable! I brought it here. Let's play it. This is Obama on Telemundo, Noticiero Telemundo. The anchor is Jose Diaz-Balart. He said, "Would you consider the current Egyptian regime an ally of the United States?"

OBAMA: I don't think that we would consider them an ally, but we don't consider them an enemy. They are a new government that is trying to find its way. They were democratically elected. I think that, uh, we are gonna have to see how they respond to this incident. Uh, how they respond to, for example, maintaining the peace treaty with Israel.
Sorry, Rush, but that statement of Obama's is just common sense.

If they maintain the peace treat with Israel, we'll continue to bribe them with our $1.5 billion, I guess. But if they dont start treating their Christian minority with the same respect we in the US are expected to  show Muslims from Egypt (and how angry they get if we don't!) or if they break the treaty with Israel - no more money for them!
