Social engineering 101

GE Forces Employees into Volts
RUSH: Also, "GE 'Forcing' Employees Into Chevy Volts -- A memo leaked to Green Car Reports lays out GE’s plans..." This Crony Capitalism 101. "A memo leaked to Green Car Reports lays out GE’s plans for their new fleet of Volts, and as expected, it has some people crying foul." By the way, source here is Gas2.org. "The memo, sent to employees of GE Healthcare Americas team explains that all sedan, crossover, and minivan purchases in 2012 will be replaced by the Chevy Volt. Only field engineers are exempt from having to drive a company Volt. GE will offer estimates for installation Level 2 Charging Stations, though all-gas use will be allowed when there is no electric option.

"Any employees who opt out of the Volt program will not be compensated for their expenses." So if you have a company car at GE they're gonna force you into a Volt. If you don't want it, you have to go buy your own car at your own expense. Twelve thousand Chevrolet Volts, I think, is the number that GE is going to buy. Let's see, 12,000? Here's the last paragraph: "It’s a bold move to be sure, and it will hopefully prove to be a boon to the Volt’s flagging sales numbers. GM had hoped to sell as many as 60,000 Volts in 2012, before dropping that number to 45,000. Will they even make that number though? Hard to tell, though GE’s business will go a long way towards giving the Volt some sales momentum."

Now, Jeffrey Immelt is head of Obama's private sector job creation panel or what have you, and has says crony capitalism just out the wazoo. This is payback. This is payback for what Obama has sent GE's way in the form of grants for "green energy" exploration and invention. So Immelt says: Okay, we'll buy 12,000 Volts and make 'em company cars. And how wonderful of GE to allow Volt drivers to use the all-gas option only when they've run out of electricity. What's the mileage they get with the all-gas engines? It's like 600 miles, I think? I'm guessing. It's either 329, 529, something like that, versus 40 miles to a charge.

If only the social engineering was to try to stop kids from having kids...or encouraging them to stay in school... instead of giving up one's car...
