I signed on to my Yahoo mail today and one of the headlines was, "Alabama law denies foodstamps to American kids."
Oh, horror, you think, until you read the article.
The kids are American by technicality only. Because their parents are illegal immigrants, they can't get food stamps, and so their little kids can't get foodstamps.
Don't get me wrong, I don't like to see people starve... but this is one of the things that anger citizens of the US who pay taxes. Immigrants to these shores - legal or illegal, are supposed to come with skills so they can get jobs - not to become a burden on our welfare system.... because - we - are - bankrupt!
The law has to be changed - only kids born here of legal immigrants are automaticlaly US citizens. If an illegal makes it over the border and then gives birth, the kid is still an illegal.
Now that our soldiers are bringing brought home from the Middle East - don't let go. Send them in to Mexico to kill all the drug lords. Then transport all our drug addicts down there on a work furlough program to make the country fit to live in - for the Mexicans themselves as well as visitors. (Yes, I know that would never happen, but the Mexicans - and the US - can't win the drug war the way we're doing it now...)
