According to Rush, Frank Sinatra and the E-Street Band were apparently honored by New Joisey with flags flying at half mast, so I guess governor Christie wasn't pandering to a minority group for doing it for Whitney.
For myself, half-mast should only be for soldiers or for civilian heroes - not for entertainers.
I can't believe all the reverence being given to Houston. It would have been one thing if she hadn't derailed her career with drugs, but she did.
