Let's Re,move Layers of Bureacuracy From Our Life!

As a freelance writer, I come into contact with all forms of writing. Today I was tasked to take a look at the Landlord Tenant laws from West Virginia and write a summary of them - in English.

Currently they are written in gibberish - aka legalese.

I looked at the 30 articles in this contract and I'm like... what the heck? No wonder lawyers make fortunes - there's no way to understand this material if you're not a lawyer - everything's in some foreign language that only this select few can understand.

And there's no reason for it to be that way!

I say we the people should mount a campaign against legalese in the documents that rule our lives. If the average person can understand what's in them, there'll be no need for the lawyers. And the average language is good enough to write iron-clad contracts that are understandable and don't have to be in such archaic language!
