The news was released last night that Terry Malloy had agreed to not burn Korans on Sept 12. He'd been in contact with the Imam and today is flying to New York to meet with the Imam... on whose dime, I wonder?
This really is rather ridiculous. A couple of weeks ago no one had heard of this pastor and no one but the members of his church - some 50 people, according to Rush - cared what he had to say.
Now, by almost causing an international incident [due to the extreeeeeeeeeeemely sensitive nature of Muslims in the Islamic world), all of a sudden everyone knows his name and wants to talk to him.
Anyone want to bet he's already in negotiations with a book publisher about his life story?
I'd be willing to bet that he never intended to burn the Korans in the first place, because he'd have known very well that his life wouldn't have been worth a nickel if he did so.
But he manipulated the media, and the Islamic world, like a master. Well, these days, that's not very hard to do...
