Story #8: Socialism Fails: UK Enacts Sweeping Welfare Reform
RUSH: Listen to this. "Britain will cap payments to jobless families and scrap child benefits for high earners in a sweeping overhaul of the country's welfare system, Treasury chief George Osborne said Monday. Osborne, who is seeking to save about 86 billion pounds ($135 billion) in government spending over the next five years, said the cost of welfare payments was out of control -- and rewarding some people for staying out of work" is no longer an option. So everywhere around the world where they tried this before (we are going full-fledged for it), they're discovering it doesn't work, it's breaking their back.
It's busting their system, and they're cutting back, while we proceed full speed ahead knowing full well that this is right where we're headed, and it's all being done on purpose. "At an annual rally of his Conservative Party, Osborne said Britain's coalition government would introduce a new welfare cap to make sure families in which both parents are unemployed do not receive more in benefits than an average family earn in wages," which is the case right now. They can't afford it. They've long been broke in the UK. We're broke. They're facing up to it, and we aren't.
An independent view of the politics of the day, using the Rush Limbaugh radio program for a springboard. I agree with much of Limbaugh's analyses of political events, American exceptionalism, and so on, but disagree with a lot, too.

Obamacare: Why can't we learn from the mistakes of others?
Rush and other people have pointed out that socialized medicine doesn't work. There's evidence that it doesn't work. But Obama and the Dems (we must never forget that the Dems are complicit in all this) are still going full steam ahead.
