Prisoners Get Ballots, Soldiers Overseas Don't

I've been reading this in the news for the last couple of weeks. Not that prisoners in jails are getting ballots (and I thought convicted crimanals lost their voting rights?) but that overseas soldiers haven't been getting their ballots. Now, there's something wrong there.

There was a story a couple of days ago, I'm blanking on which cities, but early voting is starting and Dems are the ones doing thhe voting...in other places - Nevada - Harry Red's name comes up already checked on the electronic ballot, and some peope are whining because they're being disenfranchised because they haven't gotten their ballots, but they are in the cities where they are supposed to be voting..they just don't want to have to make the effort to get to the polls.

It saddens me to say this, but the whole American election system is inept - not the least because there are places where people don't have to show their IDs to be able to vote. Why should they, when you don't even have to be a citizen to vote anymore!
Story #2: Disgrace: Illinois Prisoners Get Ballots, Soldiers Don't

RUSH: We had a caller say earlier that the Chicago Board of Elections hand-delivered ballots to inmates in jail, but we're late in sending ballots to our troops overseas. Well, I have confirmation of this. The Chicago Board of Elections does hand deliver ballots to the jail. They don't even wait for the inmates to apply for 'em. They just hand deliver 'em. They bring the applications with the ballots. Over 2,600 inmates have cast ballots so far. It's almost identical to the number of military men and women who will not receive a ballot in time to vote next Tuesday, so our caller was exactly right. "Disgraceful" does not begin to describe the Illinois election system. "Disgraceful" doesn't even scratch the surface. So thanks to Shirley, our caller, for pointing this out.
