Obama and the Teleprompter

Obama certainly does seem addicted to his teleprompter. He takes it everywhere...I"m sure there are jokes that he even takes it into bed.

Yes, technology is wonderful, but there's no need to bring a teleprompter everywhere. Sometimes a sheaf of papers is just as good, if not better.

Here's another bit Rush had to say about it.
Story #4: Photo: Obama Uses Prompter in Task Force Meeting
RUSH: I've got a picture of it. Here is a picture of Obama addressing his own Middle Class Task Force using a teleprompter. Right here, Snerdley. "Obama addresses dozen members of Middle Class Task Force," and there's the teleprompter. I see the teleprompter screens, and I see Larry Summers sitting around here and some of the other people. It looks like... Well, I can't tell who, but there are 12 of them. Biden was in charge of it, and there you have it. Middle Class Task Force, one of his own subgroups, and he's speaking to them with a teleprompter!

The caption at the actual website where Rush saw this, DayLife.com, was:
WASHINGTON - JANUARY 25: U.S. President Barack Obama makes a statement following a meeting of the Middle Class Task Force at the White House January 25, 2010 in Washington, DC. Obama and Vice President Joe Biden announced their support for an expansion of the child- and dependent-care tax credit for families that make less than $85,000 a year as well as other initiatives designed to help the middle class. Obama's State of the Union address will be on January 27.

And I'm thinking...jeez. A family that makes $50,000 a year, $60,000 a year, needs child and dependent tax care credits, but people who make over $85,000 suddenly don't? How did the powers that be figure that out?
