Joe Paterno was given information about a pedophilac about 10 years ago and did nothing about it.
That makes him a scummy human being. It does not invalidate over 100 victories! Why should it????
If he had had ineligible players on his football team for this or that season, that would be enough to vacate wins during that season or seasons. But to invalidate them just because Paterno was a scummy human being? That's stupid!
That's like saying: We're going to invalidate all the wins that a team had when Lenny Dykstra played for them, because he's been sent to jail for various scummy reasons. A better thing to do would be to invalidate all the wins of teams on which Mark McGwire played when he was taking steroids, or Sammy Sosa, or Rafael Palmeiro.
Fine Penn State millions of dollars, sure. Civil suit them into bankruptcy, sure. But don't vacate wins that had nothing to do with pedophilia!
