Where should President Obama's outrage be?

Once every few months, we learn of some police officer somewhere who has mistreated a minority suspect, up to and including shooting him in a show of excessive force. (Or, as in the case of Tayvon Martin, the neighborhood watch).

Once every few days, we hear of some black gang going around shooting up some rival gang -black - or some rival gang - Latino. And vice versa.

Why has the President never addressed that? Most drive by shootings that leave innocent people crippled or killed are done by these gang members. I'd say these gangs are a helluva lot more dangerous to the minority community then the police or neighborhood watch.

Shouldn't President Obama make gangs a national issue? How many black kids in school - or who drop out of school - are pressured into joining a gang - if they don't join they are killed? Shouldn't that be a more important issue for the First Lady to address than whether or not some young kids are too fat? How many school kids turn to drugs and stay skinny because of meth, eh?

Actually - that's what we really need. A war on drugs that really works. Stop ridiculing people who are too fat in order to force them to lose weight, and start doing tons of commercials on people who use drugs and how stupid they are! (Up to and including the wealthy drug users who really deserve more severe punishment than those folks in the hood. After all, not only should they know better, but they've got the resources to do whatever they want! Why in the world do they resort to drugs?

And I'm not talking about people who get hooked on prescription pain killers - whom I do not regard as "dangerous drug addicts" but rather those who do cocaine, heroin, meth, etc.

Indeed, the most immoral TV show I've ever seen has got to be Breaking Bad. A very popular show, if the fact that it has had several seasons is any judge - in which some middle-class white guy loses his job, wants to keep providing for his family - and so installs a meth lab in his house!

Obscene, awful, and dangerous.

And yet we get folks orchestrating a boycott against Rush because he makes an ill-advised simile about free contraceptive care and prostitution.
