Just What State Events Should the President Address?

He made a phone call to Sarah Fluke (I still want to know how he got her number), and now he's talking about the Tayvon Martin case.

Don't get me wrong - that was a tragedy - does a neighborhood watch guy really need a gun when he lives in a nice neighborhood? And if he's got a gun, why not tell a suspect to get on the ground - why shoot him? - but for the President of the US to get involved in this case - that just sets a bad precedent that he cares about blacks unjustly shot...but not about whites unjustly shot...(I'm thinking of the black on white hate crimes last year... that have never been treated as hate crimes. Those affected much more than just one teenager, but did the President call for those "sons that look like him" to calm down, learn how to speak English and get jobs instead of hanging around malls with their pants belted below their buttocks? Nope...it was the mayor of Philadelphia who took that upon himself.

Obama on Trayvon Martin: 'If I had a son, he'd look like Trayvon'

According to the Washington Post, this has now grown to a "national issue."
