Always watch complete video or listen to complete audio for yourself

I watched the Lions lose to the 49ers today, but turned it off after it was clear the Lions would lose, so didn't see the end of it where Schwartz and Harbaugh shook hands, then Schwartz got mad at Harbaugh's "antics" and went after him, having to be separated.

So when I saw that headline on CBS Sportsline, I go to the article, and the first thing I do is read the message boards, and 90% of the posts are ragging on Jim Harbaugh. If I had just settled for that, I too would have ragged on him, based on what I'd read.

Then I watched the video for myself, and I'm like...what?

What did Harbaugh do? He shook hands with Schwartz very, very briefly, and clapped him on the back as he ran by...intent on going to his players and not caring to share any words at all with Schwartz.

And Schwartz thought that behavior deserved a violent response? I'm afraid Schwartz was totally in the wrong, and deserves to be fined. Harbaugh did nothing wrong except "blow off" Schwartz - and that obviously not intentional.

And that's just a microcosm of why I say - you must not base any decisions or opinions on what other people tell you! You must always hear the actual words, or see the actual actions, before you make your judgement.

I was reminded of John Kerry and his "stuck in Iraq" comment. He made it, and if you listened to it, he was obviously talking about Bush, not about the soldiers to "dumb" enough to have gotten any job other than being a soldier, which is what Rush and Hannity spun it as.

Then there was a bit of Hannity's show opener last year, Obama saying "Just words, just speeches." Hannity made it seem like Obama was saying that what he [Obama] was saying was that he knew that what he was saying was "just words, just speeches," but what he was actually talking about was politicians in general.

Now don't get me wrong. The Dems do the same thing - folks take Rush out of context all the time, for example. But the thing is, Rush really has no cause for complaint, since its just tit for tat.

It doesn't matter whether you're a Republican or a Democrat. You must not listen to what somebody else has to say about what someone has said or done. You must see it for yourself, so you can make your own, informed decisions.
