A few days ago, Rush apparently imitated the Chinese language on his program for a few minutes. That's all he did. Now, he'd been criticizing the Chi-coms for years, and this apparently didn't engender any outrage from certain Asian Americans, but imitate the language and you deserve to lose your job!
Shaquille O'Neal did something similar a few years ago, and refused to apologize. He was "just making a joke."
We know Rush won't apologize, but will rather laugh at these super-sensitive indivuals - probably the same guys who get all offended if a TV station dares to show a Fu Manchu or Charlie Chan movie - despite the fact that Charlie Chan, a first-generation immigrant who spoke broken English - while his Americanized family spoke perfect English, was always the smartest man in the movie.
The lesson of those Chan movies - made in the 1930s and 40s mark you - was that just because someone didn't have a perfect grasp of English didn't mean that they were stupid, they could be, and in Chan's case was, extremely intelligent.
(Apparently Asian Americans were teased and called Charlie Chan when they were young, and grew to hate the name - but that's not Charlie Chan's fault. If Charlie Chan hadn't existed they would have been called something else. Just as white kids in Japanese schools are also teased. Japan may have a "polite culture" - but they've got bullying in schools just like every other culture. Seems to be a human trait.
