Easy to be Fooled - SOS Clinton's schedule!

I've made a mistake, which I here admit and apologize for. And as we should all do with our mistakes, I will learn from it and not make it again!

For the last couple of weeks, I've been giving SOS Clinton's schedule from this website, which I had assumed was her official one: http://secretaryclinton.wordpress.com/

Okay, perhaps the fact that it was a wordpress blog should have been a clue that it was not official, but I just thought, "Well, as SOS maybe she's been snubbed, and unlike the President and Vice President doens't get her own .gov blog, so she's struck out on her own."

Then, today, when I saw this phrasing for her schedule:

NO PUBLIC APPOINTMENTS

But she’ll apparently be at the State Dept. holding internal meetings

That was a red flag. "Apparently"?
Then my eye lifted to the top of the blog and I saw words there that I'd never seen before.



Now, I can't swear that those words circled in red hadn't always been there, but I sure dont' think they were. I seem to remember looking all over that blog to make sure it was an official one. [Indeed, I'm 90% sure that when I checked the "about the author" tab, it gave a bio of Clinton, and was not what is there now! But, that does leave 10% of doubt. I thought I checked that...)

But, regardless, it is not her offical blog, it is a private blog, written by a private person, not Clinton. So a week or so ago, when I got all outraged about "So Muslim is the New Gay" I was just making a fool of myself. I should have known there, too, that no way would Mrs. Clinton, or any poltician, have used that phrasing.

But I sent it to Digg, and I sent it to Rush, and I couldn't understand why no one was making a big thing out of it.

And of course the reason why they weren't making a big thing out of it was because this wasn't Clinton's blog, or her words.

So, again, I apologize, not only to my readers but also to Hilary Clinton. She does enough to criticize (IMHO) without going ballistic over something with which she had nothing to do!

This blogger must be getting Hilary's official schedule from somewhere. I will find out where that is, and start using information from her offical blog from now on.
