The Muslim American cabbie who was attacked recently, just because he was Muslim, was invited to meet Mayor Bloomberg, and will probably be making the rounds of htre various talk shows soon as well. In the meantime, the attacker is being charged with a hate crime. Well, certainly if the only reason why he attacked the cabbie was because of his religion, it was of unreasoning hatred.
But there's a larger question. If Bloomberg is going to invite all hate crime victims to meet with him, will that include those Christians, or those Jews, that have been attacked by Muslims, just because of their religion?
Or will white or hispanic victims of black hate crimes be invited to visit him to show that hate crimes occur from all races?
We will see.
