Deja Vu: Rush's America in 1992 and 1993

I'm going to be sharing some of the wit and wisdom from Rush's two books in the next few weeks, but the saddest thing of all about these two books is that nothing has changed. (Well, things have actually changed for the worse!)

His second book, See, I Told You So, was written when Bill Clinton had just been elected.

Rush writes in his introduction to the book:

Why should right-thinking people capitulate just because Bill Clinton and a liberal Democratic Congress are in office? This gives us the golden opportunity to demonstrate the failure of their ideas. They are now in control and will not be able to escape accountability. Mr. Clinton and his Ivy League colleagues are now relatively free to use this country as their grand laboratory experiment. All their theorems will be tested, with America and all Americans (not just the wealthy) as their guinea pigs. But don't despair. They don't havve enough savvy to ruin this country in four years, even if they try.

Of course Clinton went on to serve two terms.

But really, change the name Clinton to Obama and Rush could be talking about Obama's administration here. We must certainly hope that it ends in four years!
