I had meant to say something about this yesterday.
Rush commented in his program that a lot of people are dissatisfied with Obama.... Republicans because they feel he's gone to far to take us on the path to socialism... Democrats because they feel he hasn't done enough to take us on that path.
So although we as Republicans and some independents may feel hope that his poll numbers are so low... that doesn't mean a Republican is an automatic shoo-in into the White House. Obama may just be replaced by some other Democrat who will work even harder to do such things as close Gitmo, etc.
I had to feel sorry for Obama a few months ago. He's been doing his best to get "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" taken out of the military, and to work for gay rights, yet he was actually boo-ed by some gays because he didn't do it by Presidential fiat to make it happen instantaneously.
Rush laughed at him for answering angrily back to the booers - hell, I would have gotten angry too. He's trying to help them and all they did was give him grief.
For the record, I am for gay rights. As for examples, gays getting married. I don't see how this can "destroy the American family" when 50% of all heterosexual marriage these days end up divorce. Indeed, it would be nice to think that gay marriages would have a better success rate - that would be one in the eye for those who trumpet the one man-one woman ideal.
Don't get me wrong. I think kids who come from a stable, two parent home do much, on average, than those that come from a single-parent home, especially if the single parent is only 13 years older than their kid. Heterosexual marriage is broken and that's something that needs to be addressed, but giving gays the right to get married has nothing to do with it.
Well, I'm going off on a tangent.
In any event, more than anything else, JOBS are the key thing today and in the future. President Obama's jobs plan will be interesting - but the candidates from the Republican party who seek his job, better have a jobs plan of their own.
