The danger of jumping to conclusions

I'd posted rather flippantly earlier today that Rush was taking the day off again - actually he was attending the funeral for Myra Kraft, wife of the owner of the New England Patriots. I knew she'd passed away and Rush was a friend, but I hadn't even thought about the fact that he might be attending a funeral.

Then there's the atrocities in Oslo, Norway. I assumed they were from Muslim terrorists, but apparently - from what is known *to date* - it was a homegrown Norwegian terrorist, no Muslims involved.

So, no jumping to ocnclusions from now on for me! Wait until all the facts are in, then start making accusations.

(Another example. There was a baseball game between Diamondbacks and Brewers. (There's a clip of it on CBS.) A player tossed a ball into the stands, one kid missed it and started to cry, the second kid who got the ball was climing up into the stands. According to the announcers, he of his own free will went back down and gave the ball to the other boy. Not so, as a reviewing of the footage shows. A red-clad security guard called up and ordered the boy to give the ball to the first boy.)

So his good deed wasn't really a good deed, he was forced to do it by an adult yelling at him to do so. But the announcers and most people who saw the clip thought it was a good deed....)
