George Soros/Tides Story of Stuff

For my kindle readers, go to Youtube and do a search on "Story of Stuff". Beck showed a clip from this on his show yesterday. The clip said that the economies of some corporations are bigger than the economies of some countries. The illustration was of a man kneeling and kissing the foot of the corporation.

Beck apparently mentions the Tides foundation quite a bit, according to Media Matters, unlike news organizations that mention them not at all.

From Wikipedia:
Tides Center is a non-profit organization in the United States which provides fiscal sponsorship for progressive groups. Tides Center is classified a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization by the IRS. The organization is based in San Francisco with offices in the Presidio.

Tides Center is administratively linked to the Tides Foundation; both are part of a family of organizations linked by a commitment to social change, innovation, and responsible stewardship of resources.

The Tides Center provides administrative services such as payroll, benefits, insurance, and tax form 990 in exchange for a fee.

History
The roots of Tides Center are in Tides Foundation, founded by Drummond Pike in 1976. In 1977, the Tides Foundation began working with initiative campaigns, an arrangement that was formalized into the Projects Program in 1979. In 1996, this program became Tides Center, an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Since 1996, Tides Center has provided fiscal sponsorship to over 800 projects with combined revenues of over $700 million, and has worked with well over 1000 projects since the first days as the Projects Program.

2010 Shooting and Controversy
On July 20th, 2010, Byron Williams of Groveland, CA, was pulled over by Californa Highway Patrol officers on suspicions of drunk driving while en route to the San Francisco offices of the Tides Foundation, and engaged in a shootout with the officers. Described by police as "heavily armed," and equipped with body armor, a rifle, a handgun, and a shotgun, Williams told relatives that he aimed to "start a revolution" by destroying the left-wing Tides Foundation, which he believes was "a socialist plot."

Several political observers have suggested that recent Fox News coverage of the Tides Foundation may have provided some of the motive for the attacks. In particular, Glenn Beck mentioned the Tides Foundation in 29 separate episodes of his show, referring to it as "a socialist conspiracy" which was "assembling an army." Other pundits observed that, aside from holding similar political views, there was no probative evidence that the shooter was acting as a result of Glenn Beck's show.
