RUSH: Perot never really wanted to win that campaign. He just wanted to deny reelection of George H. W. Bush in 1992. So you might say that Newt now has adopted the Perot stance, because he just said it: "I'm gonna make sure that Romney doesn't come out of New Hampshire with any momentum whatsoever."
According to Rush, Perot had given a ton of money to Bush to launch a search for POWs in North Vietnam...but after Perot gave him the money Bush would't let him go along on the search. This pissed Perot off, so he vowed to make sure Bush Sr wouldn't be reelected.
How petty is that?
Now, according to Rush, Newt is doing the same thing with Romney. Romney may be the only change the Republicans have to win the presidency, and if he doesn't we get another 4 years of Obama. Does Newt care? No - he's going to make sure Romney can't win because Romney made him mad.
Well...that's Rush's interpretation of what Newt is doing...
For myself...I dunno....a president named Newt? The guy can't help his name...but still...
