Why Are Democrats Rejecting the Tax Deal?

The Democrats lost big in the mid-term election... so why are they now still following the same old failed policies, which includes blocking continued tax rate cuts for the rich?

On the one hand I have to admit I don't see why the super rich have to have their tax cuts...on the other hand, if they do have their tax cuts, they may be silly enough to start spending the money they're saving on taxes.

Thing is...I don't think anybody these days should be spending money....but of course if they dont... the recession will continue.
