Of Dogs

Rush actually mentioned this yesterday, and Hannity and Beck have been making hay with it...

But it was Romney's camp who brought it up...frankly I don't think the two things are equivalent.

According to Obama, he ate dog meat when he was a kid. In Indonesia where they eat dogs. (They also eat dogs in other Asian countries. And of course to Muslims, dogs are dirt, only slightly higher than women in the scheme of things. Which is why here in the US a blind person with a guide dog will not be given a ride by a Muslim taxi driver, because it would offend his faith.)

Not sure how old Obama was, but he was young. He didn't go out and catch a dog, kill it and eat it, it was fed to him. Eating dogs was part of the culture.

Contrast that to the fuss being made over the Romneys who put their dog - in an enclosed kennel - on top of their car in 1983. In that case you've got two adults who don't give very much thought to the comfort of their dog... but on the other hand if its in an enclosed kennel so the wind can't get to it, and had a way to eat and drink...and according to Ann Romney, loved riding up there..

Well, I do have to say the Romney story shows a bit more "laissez-faire" attitude when it comes to a pet's health than Obama.
