If the schedule is to be believed, I think he spent less than three days there.
Now, admittedly, it only takes about 3 hours (not even quite that long) to fly from Miami, where the President was, to Cargegena, Colombia.
So he left on Friday the 13th and got there at 4.45 pm.
And he spent the weekend there. Doubtless working as well as, by his own admission, scoping out the sites to see if he should bring Michelle back there for a vacation, over the weekend.
Saturday, Sunday and Monday he had no public schedule, but he must have returned on Monday, because he was at work Tuesday by 10.15 am for the Presidential briefing.
So he was in Cartegena for two and a half days.
On the one hand, quick trip, not much tax burden (as opposed to all those Secret Service men who had arrived earlier than he, and presumably stuck around with Secretary of State CLinton and all the diplomatic corps that went there).
On the other hand, quick trip. Why go at all if you're only going to be spending 2 days there? Especially when your Secretary of State and the Diplomatic Corps are going?
It's too bad that the Secret Service, being secret, won't share the names or photos of the men involved in the sex scandal. I'd really like to know how long they've been in their jobs.
This isn't the first time the Secret Service has failed in its job to protect the president Let's not forget in 2009 two sets of folks - a husband and wife and another guy, actually got into the White House uninvited during a state dinner and actually shook Obama's hand!
You can't blame the incompetence of the Secret Service on the incompetence of Obama - unless he handpicked his secret service men which I don't think he does.
Is the Secret Service unionized?
