And its STUPID. And DANGEROUS.
If you read the articles put out by Rush, Glen Beck, etc - I don't know if Hannity covered it - they make it seem like Obama's name is in the biography, that he was present at all these events, etc. So, you read this, and, all full of outrage, go to the actual biographies on the web to see for yourself...and suddenly the outrage fades and puzzlements sets in.
Because Obama's name is not in any of these biographies. The biographies are exactly at the same. But, down at the bottom, identified as bullet points, separate from the biographies, is the fact that today, Obama is continuing this or that policy.
There's nothing confusing about that, nothing egocentrical - it's like you're on a wikipedia page and you get the biography and at the end of the biography you have a place for For Further Reading, or External Links.
So, after you realize this, then you start thinking, what else has Obama done that the Republicans are distorting into outright falsehood?
This engenders a bit of distrust, and for Indepdendents, at least, who knows if this tactic won't cause them to vote for Obama come November?
I raised the same point about the news headlines at the Michael Savage website. Yes, there are some interesting links there (although I don't visit as often as I did after he did his horrible redesign) but sometimes you click on this damning headline to go to the actual article....and learn that the headline was rewritten to be damning, and the actual article has nothing to do with what the headline says (or, even if damning, still has nothing to do with anything Obama did, although his name is in the headline).
So Savage got what he wanted - people who read the headline, and only the headline - think bad things of the Obama government, but those folks who actually go to read the article learn something quite different, and learn to mistrust those headlines, Savage, and by extension, the Repubican party.
President Obama and the Democrats have done lots of stuff that are heading us toward the brink of destruction. Can we not focus on what they actually do, instead of making up lies about things they haven't really done?
