Gays are born gay - they can't help it. And in the midst of all the hatred in the world, and all the straights getting divorced and remarrying or not getting married at all and popping out baby after baby...if two gay men or women who love each other want to show that commitment by getting married, more power to them.
Of course, people are people, so it will be interesting to see - should all states allow gay marriage - what the divorce rate for gays is. It can hardly be worse than that for straight people...but if even one gay couple gets divorced, you know there will be folks who will say, "See, that proves gays shouldn't get married!" The black community doesn't care much for gays, nor does the Latino community, and these are two voting blocks that conservatives are expecting will now turn to them. While there are many reasons why blacks and Latinos should vote to get Republicans in office, gay marriage ain't one of them. It's interesting there as well, the black community and the Latino community face prejudice all the time (or at least, so they believe) but will they come to the aid of another community that is discriminated against? It would seem not.
I don't see the black community turning on Obama, worst case scenario for BO they just wont be as motivated to get out and and vote like they did in 08.
