Rush's Website Guy Needs to Choose His Headlines Better

Rush was laughing at what the Reverend Jesse Jackson had to say about the repeal of Obama care today - and he was right to laugh, as what Jackson said was pretty funny.

But on Rush's website, it says:

Rev Jackson: Obama Repeal Will Produce 'Creeping Genocide'
and "destruction the likes of which we've never known"

Which had me thinking maybe Jackson had said that African Americans would riot if Obamacare were repealed. [I had missed this segment of Rush's show, and had to read it via his website.]

What he actually said was poor people apparently would die. So it's a genocide of poor people, not necessarily African Americans.
Here's what he said:

JACKSON: Well, a kind of creeping genocide. What is hypocritical is that those who vote against the health care bill themselves have comprehensive health care for their families. You're talking about more working poor people. Most poor people are not on welfare, they're not derelicts; they work. Half of the veterans were homeless -- men homeless are veterans. A million and a half children who -- who are homeless, and they often go to school without adequate health care. So this really is a -- a mass march for the kind of humane -- human destruction, of the likes of which we've never known. We deserve better.

And of course Rush pointed out that maybe if poor people didn't have children out of wedlock, they wouldn't be poor, [and they could probably afford health care if they were a two parent family. - my addition.]

It's always annoyed me, when you read the news, to hear women referred to as "single mothers." They used to make the distinction - "divorced mother of two", "single mother of one." Now, regardless of whether you were married and then got divorced (and thus get alimony) or were never married (and probably don't even know the name of the father of your baby) you are called a "single mother," which distorts the accuracy of statistics, in my opinion.

It's not just African American women who continue to have children out of wedlock...if I recall correctly white women now have the highest percentage of new children being born out of wedlock. (Indeed, all of my uncle's step-grandchildren - and there are 10 of them - are illegitimate. One of his step-sons has five or six kids, and he doesn't work and has never worked, and yet he continues to get girl friends who don't care that he's a deadbeat, continues to have sex without condoms, continues to produce kids, and the mothers just go merrily on their way, now that they can get welfare from the government - and from us, the taxpayers.)
