George Zimmerman's Bail Revoked

Rush commented on this today, and frankly I don't know what he was trying to say. That the only reason why Zimmerman is back in jail is because he isn't black?

It is interesting that he has a second passport, and apparently the Paypal account of which Rush speaks has $200,000 in it - donations from people around the country for his defense fund.

You'd think he'd just have to give up that second passport, but apparently since he didn't tell anyone he had it, he's to be punished by being sent back to jail.

RUSH: We have a little breaking news here: George Zimmerman's bond has been revoked in the Trayvon Martin shooting case. George Zimmerman must surrender himself to the authorities within the next 48 hours. Now, you're probably saying, "Well, why?" Well, according to the breaking news, they have found out that George Zimmerman had more money in his PayPal account than his wife realized -- and because he has a second passport. So his bail has been revoked. He's got more money in his PayPal account than his wife knew, and he's got a second passport. So we are getting a very important lesson about what "social justice" looks like, and it ain't blind.

Here's what Click Orlando had to say about it:

Prosecutors say Zimmerman misled the court on his finances during a bail hearing that allowed his release on $150,000 bond. Zimmerman's attorney said several days later that he had discovered his client had raised more than $200,000 from a website with $135,000 available. That money wasn't disclosed at the bond hearing.

Judge Kenneth Lester heard the argument at the evidence hearing because he said the matter was "very serious."

State prosecutors said on Friday Zimmerman's wife, Shelley, knew about the PayPal money from his website and lied at the bond hearing when she said she didn't know of it.

O'Mara commented on the state calling Zimmerman and his wife liars by saying, "I understand the states position on it. I don’t agree with it. That’s what adversaries do."

State prosecutors said Zimmerman also had another passport he didn't disclose to the court.

"The defendant lied to this court," said state prosecutor Bernie de la Rionda. O'Mara defended Zimmerman, saying he didn't deceive the court about his passport.

I think Republicans want to Beat Deomocrats because ....

Rush hit the nail on the head today...

It's always been interesting to see that every criticism of Obama is met with the accusation - well, it's made because they're racist.

Now, I'm not saying that a lot of racist whites don't want Obama in office. Read any news article about Obama, go down to the comments, and you'll find plenty of posts referring to him as a monkey, a chimp, ya da ya da. There are probably as many white racists in this country as there are black and Latino racists.

And they are a small percentage. Because remember that even though 95 % of blacks voted for Obama in the last election - that was not enough to get him elected. It was only with the white and Latino vote that it happened. Non-racists trumped racists.

But if you look at the history of this country over the last three presidencies or so, weren't the Dems hell-bent for leather to get Bush out of office? He was white, so it couldn't have been racism. Must have been his politics. Now we've got Obama in office, he's demonstrably failed at practically everything he's done - starting with insulting England by giving the Queen an ipod of his speeches, giving the prime minister a package of DVDs...that were not playable on British DVD players, and returning a bust of Winston Churchill with scant ceremony.

And it just got worse from there.

As for the birther thing - if Obama had just handed over his birth certificate to begin with, he would have shut up a lot of folks. But just why does he have a Connecticut social security number when he never lived in Connecticut?

RUSH: Here is Charlie Rose last night on his PBS show. His guest is New York Magazine National Editor John Heilemann, and they're talking about the presidential race. This is the question that I told you about right before the top of the hour. Basically Charlie Rose says: Why do Republicans want to beat Obama so bad?

ROSE: What is it about the President that seems to make them so passionate to defeat him?

HEILEMANN: That's kind of like a PhD dissertation-style question.

ROSE: Yeah.

HEILEMANN: There is a part of the Republican Party, the conservative -- far conservative -- aspect of it that have hated the President with a really raw intensity since the day he walked into the office. Certainly the birther thing seems to be, at least to me, partly driven by racial animus. This notion of Obama as a socialist, that he is Chicago school, Saul Alinsky. There's all these associations that a lot of the right have with various kinds of left-wing bogeys. You know, if you look at the way the president's governed -- in my opinion, you know -- he's clearly been left of center.

ROSE: Mmm-humph.

HEILEMANN: But not socialist by any means.

RUSH: Oh, no, no! Of course not. Not socialist. He's just taking over one-sixth of the economy with government-run health care. No way! How could anybody think the guy's a socialist!

Mr. Heilemann, he says he's one.

And I'm sorry, but the Saul Alinsky stuff is real.

Why do conservatives want to beat Hillary as badly as they want to beat Obama? Is it 'cause she's black? Well, she's not black. Her husband was the first black president, but she was not the first black first lady. No, it's 'cause she's a woman, right? It can't possibly be because of the politics. What kind of question is this? Charlie, would you ever ask Heilemann, "Why do Democrats want to beat George Bush so bad?" The question would never even occur to you.

MILWAUKEE — Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walke rand rival Tom Barrett leveled sharp attacks on each other's competence, integrity and motives during their final debate before Tuesday's recall election, which could offer a preview of the November election in this probable swing state.

Barrett, the Democratic mayor of Milwaukee, accused Republican Walker of stripping public workers of collective bargaining rights to do the bidding of wealthy business interests, divide the state and transform it into “an experimental dish for the far right.”

Walker painted Barrett as a tool of powerful unions whose demands had financially crippled the state. “The mayor wants to go back to a system where a handful of special interests dictated everything,” he charged.

Barrett vowed to restore collective bargaining for public employees, framing it as a matter of respect, not fealty. He warned that private sector unions would be next to see their bargaining rights diminished if Walker remained in office.

Walker denied that, saying he didn't want to risk repeating the turmoil triggered in Wisconsin after public workers launched a wave of demonstrations in protest, occupying the Capitol for weeks, and ultimately spearheading a recall petition drive that led to the upcoming vote.

But he refused to answer directly when asked if he would veto anti-union “right-to-work” legislation if it reached his desk. “It's not going to get there,” Walker said. Such legislation would mean no worker could be forced to join a union or pay union dues, even in a union shop.

The recall’s backdrop is that Wisconsin could be one of a handful of states to decide who wins the presidency come November – Republican Mitt Romney or President Obama. Obama won here by 14 percentage points in 2008, but the race is likely to be much closer this year.

Much of Thursday night’s debate centered on two controversies. The first was a spreading criminal investigation that has led to charges against a few top Walker aides from his days as Milwaukee County executive. Walker has said he is not a target of the investigation, which centers on the awarding of contracts and political activities of some of the workers.

Barrett pressed Walker for details on who is bankrolling the governor’s $160,000 criminal defense fund, but Walker declined to get into specifics. Walker said that his own office had tipped investigators to suspicions of wrongdoing and that prosecutors had asked him not to discuss details.

Walker ripped into Barrett over recent revelations that Milwaukee police had low-balled the volume of violent crimes in the city. Just weeks ago, Barrett was touting a drop in violent crime on his watch, but a recent investigation by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel showed it was in fact on the rise.

Barrett blamed the police data problems on clerical errors and noted that homicides were indeed down substantially.

“I have a police department that arrests felons,” Barrett said. “He has a practice of hiring them.”
