Sports fans celebrate the death of Osama Bin Laden?

I'm all for capital punishment, and I have no problem at all with Osama Bin Laden being dead, but really the media frenzy is getting a bit tiresome. It's even headlines on the sports sites like ESPN and CBSSports!

On a few message boards that I frequent - not political discussion boards - a few folks are saying that since Obama has managed to kill Osama, he's now a shoe-in for the 2012 presidency.

I don't believe that's true. Yeah, it's nice he's dead, but he never was a figure in al Quadea for many years - the Islamist extremists aren't going to stop now...indeed, they'll probably be even more viscious, as he's now been made a martyr.

Meanwhile, the US has exactly the same problems it had 2 days ago before Osama's death, and those problems aren't going to go away by 2012, either!
