According to their website, neither President Obama nor VP Biden have public schedules today. Doubtless embroiled in campaign fund raisers all day.

Tomorrow's Wisconsin Vote a Referendum on the Country?

According to Rush, Wisconsin is now a successful state thanks to the changes Walker implemented. Everyone in Wisconsin "is living it", "must know it."

So tomorrow, will Walker be kept in office - proving that Republican governing principles trump Democrat ones?

RUSH: The Wisconsin recall election tomorrow. The incumbent Scott Walker is opposing the former Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, and the Democrats are pulling out all the stops in the past three or four days.

It has been documented statistically that that rumor [Bush having a DUI] did some damage to Bush's vote count on Election Day five days later. Now this rumor about Scott Walker having fathered an illegitimate child 24 years ago is by some outfit called the Wisconsin Citizens Media Co-op and they said they got it from a woman named Bernadette Gillick. Bernadette Gillick teaches physical therapy at the University of Minnesota.

And the story goes that she said she knew Scott Walker's girlfriend when they were students at Marquette. And this Wisconsin Citizens Media Co-op said they hadn't been able to "independently verify" Bernadette Gillick's account, but they went ahead and ran the story anyway. [They shouldn't have, but Rush is a fine one to talk. He too has spread unconfirmed rumors...then had to correct himself later on in the program (after the people who heard the rumor and believed it might have turned off....)

...But she [the woman in question who denies Scott Walker is the father of her baby] thinks that the Walkers are being confused because there's Scott Allen Walker and the governor is Scott Kevin Walker. So they ran with this before anybody actually knew whether it was true or not, which also smacks of desperation.

RUSH: Well, we'll see. It's all going to be known here in a little over 24 hours. I gotta tell you something. This latest thing, the out-of-state money, it's really a funny statistic: 74% of donations to Tom Barrett are from within Wisconsin; 38% for Walker are from within Wisconsin. Well, things don't happen in a vacuum. If a lot of out-of-state money is coming in for Scott Walker, it's called the Tea Party. And they saw what this started as, with the unions all over the country trying to take over this state.

Wisconsin is a battleground for the very future of the union-government model. That's what's at stake here. And Obama and the Democrats have looked at it that way themselves, particularly back in the days when they thought they were going to get rid of Walker and when they were going to defeat Walker. But I have to tell you, folks -- and I'm not trying to be a downer. I live in Literalville. Well, Literalville is a suburb of Realville. I live in both places.

I've got two homes, homes in Realville and Literalville, and I like to say that when you look at Scott Walker's record in Wisconsin, he hasn't laid anybody off. He's lowered taxes. Unemployment in Wisconsin is much lower than the national average. Employment is looking good. The state's coffers are looking good. Everything Scott Walker has implemented has worked exactly as he said it would. And my point in trying to keep people enthused about this and feeling positive is:

"Let the Democrats say whatever they want. Let them try to create all kinds of alternative universes. The fact is, people are living this, and so they know."

Part Times Jobs Increase, but not "Real Jobs"

We, the American people, really should get on to the media about the distortions and lies by omission that we are fed with. People will read the first headline - 59,000 jobs added in May, and never see the second headline a few days later - "Oh, they were part time jobs."

RUSH: I do want to add on to the unemployment news we had Thursday and Friday of last week. If you'll recall, 69,000 jobs were added. And if you'll recall, the previous two months' numbers were revised -- and we learned that we lost 49,000 jobs that were not reported in those two months, March and April. Now we've learned something very important about the 69,000 jobs that were announced as having been "created" in the month of May.

Part-time jobs are at an all-time high according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. There are over 28 million part-time jobs. And the fact of the matter is (I don't know the exact number), the vast majority of the 69,000 jobs that were announced as being created in the month of May were part-time jobs. According to Zero Hedge: "[T]he quality composition of the NFP report was just abysmal and makes any reported 'increase' in those employed into a sad farce." "[T]he increase in part-time jobs in May compared to April: 618,000, or the fifth highest on record."

"It gets better: when added with the 508,000 increase in part-time jobs in April, this is the largest two month increase in part time-jobs in history." So the 69,000 jobs announced last Thursday or Friday -- and remember, the world reacted negatively. Europe and the stock markets reacted negatively. It's even worse than reported because the bulk of those jobs, the vast majority of them are part-time jobs. They're not career-oriented type jobs. They're part-time work -- and, of course, with no health care benefits. No benefits, period, are attached to these jobs.

It's Girls Who Are Taught Not To Be Competitive...

Rush shared the story today of a Division III high school runner who had won one race - and *I thought* she was about to win another but stopped to help another runner across the finish line, which caused her to finish last.

Rush takes this to mean the decline of American competitiveness, not recking that he's talking about girls here. I seriously doubt if boys of the same age would have done anything remotely similar.

(Which isn't to say girls can't be vicious - there was the clip of that female college soccer player who took down an opponent with moves reminiscent of a hockey player, and there's been a couple of actual fist-fights in NCAA Div 1 women's basketball)

But there was a story a few years ago now - about the girl who hit a home run but broke her leg. So her opponents carried her around the basepaths so she could touch each base, and thus win the game for *her* team.

But really, these are just sports, not business competition. I'd rather see someone deliberately lose - it's not like a scholarship or anything was on the line - then just plow past her.

"The West Liberty-Salem High School junior was the surprise winner in the Division III girls 1,600 meters in the finals of the state track meet at Ohio State’s Jesse Owens Stadium. She broke away from race favorite Tammy Berger of Versailles and Delainey Phelps of Toledo Christian with 300 meters to go. She won going away in 4:58.31. It was the first time she had broken the five-minute mark. What Vogel did at the end of the D-III 3,200 meters, however, got her a standing ovation. "Within 20 feet of the finish line, Arden McMath, a sophomore from Arlington High School, collapsed in front of Vogel. Rather than run by her, Vogel helped McMath to her feet and helped her across the finish line. The crowd came to its feet with the roar growing louder with each step. 'Helping her across the finish line was a lot more satisfying than winning the state championship,' admitted Vogel. By rule, a runner in track or cross country is automatically disqualified for aiding another runner. In this instance, however, meet management took no action. McMath was given 14th place in 12:29.90 and Vogel 15th in 12:30.24. Vogel made sure McMath crossed the finish line first because she had been ahead of her. 'What a selfless act,' said Arlington coach Paul Hunter. 'She could have just gone around Arden. But she chose to help. I’ve never seen that at a state meet. That’s real sportsmanship.'"

Rush doesn't watch kids movies, but the same thing sort of happened in Cars I. The "hero" of the movie is about to win the race. 3rd place car causes the 2nd place car to wreck. Our hero stops short of the goal line, and goes to help the wrecked car, pushing it over the finish line. Meantime the 2nd place car goes on to win, but everyone ignores him because of the way he did it...

Rush compares Apples and Oranges

During the Bush years, Dems were outraged that Bush wanted to wiretap people calling overseas to hear if they were plotting against the US.

Today, Rush compared the EPA surveillance planes to that, and asked where the outrage was.

Well, there's no outrage because the two things are not comparable.

If the surveillance planes had been x-raying people's houses to see what kind of sexual activity was going on, or if bombs were being made, yes, that would be comparable.

But apparently all these surveillance planes are doing is making sure ranches in Nebraska don't pour cow feces into nearby streams.

I don't have a problem with that. (But then, I didn't have a problem with the Bush wire taps, either.)
